Lucknow: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the 4th Uttar Pradesh State Agriculture Summit on December 4 in Lucknow. The summit will bring together more than 200 CEOs, technical experts and agribusiness leaders, including around 40 international participants, to discuss opportunities and challenges in the agricultural sector.
The event will be held at Hotel Renaissance as part of the 25th edition of AgroTech 2026, scheduled from December 3 to 5. The Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA) is organising the event, with the Government of Uttar Pradesh as the host state.
The summit will open with an inaugural session focusing on policy initiatives to promote agribusiness, exports and investment in Uttar Pradesh.
The technical sessions will cover several key areas of agricultural development, including technology and input management, crop health and productivity, agricultural credit and insurance, and the use of artificial intelligence and digital tools in precision agriculture.
Another key area of discussion will be partnerships between Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and industry to strengthen agricultural processing and marketing.
The summit will conclude with the Uttar Pradesh State Excellence Awards, recognising organisations and individuals for their contributions to agriculture, agribusiness and allied sectors.
The broader AgroTech 2026 programme aims to connect with more than 10,000 progressive farmers and agricultural stakeholders over its three-day duration.
The event will also provide opportunities for business-to-business (B2B) meetings, government interactions, investment discussions and the signing of memorandums of understanding (MoUs). Live technology demonstrations and farmer workshops will form part of the programme.
Speaking about the summit, ICFA Director Tushar Sharma said Uttar Pradesh, being India's largest agricultural state with a population of over 250 million, offers significant opportunities for agricultural investment and business development.
He also highlighted Gadkari's initiatives in Maharashtra and his more recent efforts related to ethanol blending in petrol, which, according to Sharma, have contributed to higher prices for biomass and benefited farmers.
The event is aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the Uttar Pradesh government's ambition to develop the state into a trillion-dollar economy.
